Dr Laurence Brown
Director & Senior Vet

I think I decided at about twelve years old that I wanted to become a veterinary surgeon and work with animals. We had always had our own cats, but as both my parents worked, we never had our own dog. I used to make up for this by walking a neighbours two Dobermans; Muffin & Storm!

As school kid I spent many years 'seeing practice' with vet David Crawford in Ayr before going off to Glasgow Vet School in 1987.

I graduated from Glasgow in 1994 and started as a Large Animal vet in a mixed Practice in Sevenoaks, Kent. After 4 years I then moved to another mixed practice in Cranbrook, Kent, where I completely my RCVS Certificate in Veterinary Cardiology and became a Partner in the business. Following getting married to Claudia and with our three children we made the move to Lincolnshire in 2007 and I joined Bruce as a Partner in Ashby Veterinary Group.

I have enjoyed developing and watching the practice grow since then and still continue to try and treat our clients pets as if they were 'one of my own' .....of which there are now 2 horses, 3 sheep, 3 dogs and 2 cats!!
